PrideStaff is seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator / Mechanic on behalf of our client in Spartanburg, SC. This role is vital to the production process, as you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of food packaging machinery to ensure smooth and efficient production. Your primary goal will be to maintain a consistent flow of packaged products while troubleshooting and repairing equipment as needed. Food Packaging Machine Operator / Mechanic Key
Responsibilities include: Operate and monitor packaging machinery, including fillers, sealers, and labelers. Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs on packaging equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or operational issues to minimize downtime. Monitor product quality, ensuring proper seal integrity, labeling accuracy, and package appearance. Adjust machine settings for different product sizes and specifications. Maintain accurate production and maintenance logs. Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and company policies.
Food Packaging Machine Operator / Mechanic Required
Skills and Experience include:
1 or more years previous experience operating and maintaining packaging machinery, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to read and follow technical manuals and schematics. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Understanding of safety protocols and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Physical Demands This role requires frequent physical activity. You must be able to:
Stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day. Lift and move objects up to
50 lbs . Bend, stoop, climb, and reach as required to operate and maintain machinery. Work in a manufacturing environment that may be loud and have varying temperatures.
