Construction Safety Manager Construction Safety Manager
IE2 Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced and passionate Construction Safety Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for driving a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations across our construction projects.
This position is available immediately in the Austin, Texas area.
About the Role:
As a key member of our team, the Safety Manager will collaborate with superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, and field staff to implement proactive safety strategies and provide expert oversight throughout all phases of construction. Additionally, this individual will analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
Essential Duties:
Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans and protocols.
Collaborate with project teams during estimating and planning phases to identify safety requirements and budgets.
Conduct jobsite inspections and safety audits (minimum monthly) and document findings in Procore.
Lead 4-week lookahead meetings to anticipate upcoming high-risk activities and hazards.
Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels.
Monitor and support superintendent safety inspections and ensure proper documentation.
Act as liaison and subject matter expert with subcontractors, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
Identify and provide additional oversight for high hazard and site-specific safety items.
Assist in incident reporting and post-incident evaluations.
Promote open communication and a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
5+ years of safety management experience in commercial construction.
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and risk mitigation practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to lead by influence.
Experience with Procore or similar project management/safety software.
OSHA 30 or higher certification (required); CHST, CSP or equivalent safety credential (preferred).
Ability to train and educate staff at all levels.
Ability to visit jobsites regularly and assess site-specific needs.
