Description
Job Summary: Collectand accurately input into the hospital registration system. Obtainsignatures on all appropriate forms and issueall required notices to the patient or appropriate family member. Verifyinsurance, identifycertification requirements, and obtainthem when necessary. Notifyappropriate supervisory personnel if patient present for services and authorization is required but not on file. Calculateestimated amount due and request payment using the hospital approved scripts. Accurately and thoroughly documentpertinent events regarding the handling of the account, including researching prior accounts. Demonstrateand encourageteam behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences. Upholdand promotepatient safety and quality.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
One to two years of clerical skills required. Insurance verification and hospital or medical experience preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Excellent customer service skills required. Computer experience required. Must be able to type 30 WPM.The ability to interpret medical terminology required.
