Job Summary:
Chloeta is seeking a Natural Resources GIS Analyst (Intermediate Level) to support forest health monitoring and geographic information systems (GIS) projects. The role involves insect and disease risk modeling, aerial survey data compilation, mapping, GIS analysis, training, and technical support to advance regional forest health initiatives.

This pay band reflects Chloeta's good faith estimate of the range it expects to offer; Chloeta reserves the right to alter this range if business circumstances change.
$75,000 - $90,000 annually FSLA Exempt Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct insect and disease risk modeling, aerial survey data compilation, GIS mapping and analysis. Provide mobile GIS mapping, poster/presentation development, and other graphic design support. Build and maintain GIS systems and intranet sites to disseminate maps and geospatial data. Perform spatial modeling/analysis including slope, volume, area, viewshed, raster rectification, 3D animations, and image analysis. Import/export spatial and tabular data; maintain and update major GIS feature classes. Create custom GIS tools using ModelBuilder, Python, R, SQL, and other programming languages. Provide ad hoc and video-based training modules; review technical documentation. Support data collection, database management, report preparation, and metadata development. Coordinate with database administrators and national teams to integrate geospatial data. Assist in forestry, wildlife, fire, pest management, inventory, land cover/use, hydrographic, and demographic modeling projects. GIS analysis and mapping, including spatial modeling (slope, volume/area, viewshed), raster rectification, 3D animations, and image analysis. Aerial survey data compilation and insect/disease risk modeling. Geodatabase management: import/export spatial and tabular data; maintain/update major GIS feature classes; develop metadata. Automation/tooling using ModelBuilder, Python, R, and SQL. Mobile GIS/GPS data collection and QA/QC. Cartography and communication: posters/presentations, graphics, and intranet content for disseminating maps and geospatial data. Training delivery (ad hoc and video-based) and technical document review. Coordination with database administrators and national teams to integrate geospatial data. Support for forestry, wildlife, fire, pest management, inventory, land cover/use, hydrographic, and demographic modeling projects. Ability to meet reporting/deliverable schedules, safeguard government equipment/data, and travel within California as required. Education and Experience Requirements
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Ecology, Wildlife Biology, Soils, Geology, Hydrology, Geography, or Earth Science. Required:
Minimum five (5) years of intensive experience in a field requiring extensive use of GIS and related tools Preferred:
Master's degree in GIS. Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. This job operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc. Benefits:
