We are looking for the right person to partner with our residents to help them continue to live their lives of purpose and make the most of every day by providing the best care and support we can give them. We specialize in assisted living and memory care. Highgate Senior Living's mission is to devote ourselves to help each resident live a life of purpose. This position is either full or part-time and includes being responsible for the care of our residents, which can be hands-on and/or stand-by assistance as needed. At Highgate, providing care means caring for the whole person, including physical assistance with activities of daily living and emotional, psychological, and soulful support. The best candidate may have current caregiving credentials, be organized and detail-oriented, with a positive and self-motivated attitude. Experience in passing medications will be preferred and training to become certified to pass meds will be provided for the right candidate. Strong communication and critical thinking abilities are required. SKILLS NEEDED Good customer service skills, the ability to intuit, and problem solve Patience, level headedness, and compassion Computer skills or the ability to learn new software Ability to pivot, change direction and accomplish tasks with innovative approaches Detail orientation, demonstrated follow up and documentation abilities Strong capability to focus on a task during periods of distraction Ability to take feedback and incorporate it into your efforts An understanding of what it takes to provide care to residents who need physical and/or cognitive support Comfortable to adapt quickly to the changing needs of an older adult An understanding or willingness to gain an understanding of dementia and how residents with dementia can continue to live with purpose

RELATABLE EXPERIENCE

Prior experience working in an assisted living community or memory care community as a Certified Medication Assistant or other role Jobs or volunteer assignments that involved providing care or were detail oriented Other hospitality or healthcare related experience Experience in customer service Roles in which you have been a multi-tasker Opportunities from your past where you demonstrated kindness, patience, and compassion

QUALIFICATIONS At least 18 years of age Ability to obtain CPR & First Aid Certification Possess the ability to sit, stand, bend, and move continuously during work hours Ability to carry or transfer up to 25 lbs with assistance Ability to pass criminal record/background check Be efficient and exercise good time management skills Must be able to work well independently with little oversight Must have a track record of top-notch organizational abilities and communication skills Willing to attend and incorporate into your work efforts different types of training
