Position Overview: The Lift Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a lift truck to transport pallets and materials within the facility, including storage areas, production lines, and vehicles. This role supports various operational functions, maintains safety and cleanliness standards, and ensures compliance with quality and hygiene protocols.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate a lift truck to transfer materials safely and efficiently. Select and move orders based on work instructions. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment. Report mechanical or safety issues to the appropriate supervisor. Support inventory management and receiving activities. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area. Adhere to food safety, legal, quality, and company policies (e.g., GMPs, HACCP). Follow proper safety procedures, including trailer chocking during loading/unloading. Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors. Working Conditions:
Exposure to loud noise and varying temperatures (hot/cold). Physical activity required throughout shift, including handling materials. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to operate a lift truck safely (training/certification may be provided). Basic mathematical skills. Ability to work independently and follow directions. Willingness and ability to work overtime as required. Commitment to maintaining good attendance and safe work habits. Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience operating lift trucks in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Essential Physical & Cognitive Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):
Ability to lift/move up to 80 lbs occasionally. Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stretch, and reach regularly. Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions. Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team. Ability to operate basic computer systems for communication and data input.
