Job Overview:

This job consist of local pier container pick-ups and drop-offs from the Long Beach ports with NO TOUCH freight. Drivers must be comfortable with city driving. Drivers are home daily and qualifying drivers can receive Safety Bonuses. Drivers must have their TWIC card to be eligible for this position. Drivers for this position are responsible for pick-ups and drop-offs from the Long Beach ports.

Duties and responsibilities:

· On time delivery to dedicated accounts.

· Pre-trip/Post-trip inspection (before/ after each load).

· Maintaining daily E-Log.

· Operate Company owned tractor-trailer trucks to facilitate transportation of freight.

· Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation “user maintenance” and provide required reports.

· Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.

· Maintain all required certifications required by DOT, OSHA and company safety programs.

· Maintain all property entrusted to the driver in excellent condition and protect it.

· Report all accidents immediately.

· Promptly report any delays to respective Dispatcher or Manager.

· Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.

· Ability to safely drive various vehicles.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.

· Ability to communicate effectively.

· Ability to work independently.

· Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times

· Ability to occasionally perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.

· Ability to make independent judgments, which have moderate impacts on the organization.

Physical Demands:

· Extended Periods of Sitting: Drivers are required to sit for long durations while operating vehicles.

· Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and feet to operate vehicles, adjust controls, and manage equipment.

· Heavy Lifting: Occasional lifting, carrying, and securing of cargo, which may exceed 50 pounds.

· Navigation and Attention: Continuous focus on driving and navigation, requiring high levels of concentration and situational awareness.

· Variable Work Hours: Potential for irregular hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and overnight trips.

· Exposure to Weather: Work involves exposure to various weather conditions during loading and unloading operations.

· Climbing and Balancing: Climbing into and out of the truck cab and trailer, as well as balancing to secure cargo.

· Health and Safety Compliance: Adherence to safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment as necessary.

Licensing & Certifications:

Class A CDL. TWIC Card. Safe driving record (MVR, CSA, and previous employment). Ability to pass DOT pre-employment drug screening and meet DOT medical requirements. Good stable work record. Current DOT physical. 1 year of Class-A driving experience or equivalent military experience. Be at least 23 years of age.
