Position Summary
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is a mid-level laboratory California licensed professional with a scope of practice that includes performing and reporting of waived and/or moderately complex tests under CLIA guidelines. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Consistently applies infection control and OSHA policies/procedures. Participates in department specific education/training in a timely manner, which includes new/ revised procedures. Is compliant with competency assessment including age specific competencies. Ensures that any unusual occurrences, quality/safety issues, and customer complaints are documented timely using the variance reporting process. Performs patient testing, internal and external quality control (QC) testing under supervision of licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS). Develops skills and maintains competency in routine and assigned laboratory areas. Maintains proper inventories and correctly uses supplies and reagents under supervision of licensed CLS. Performs advanced equipment troubleshooting and equipment maintenance under supervision of licensed CLS. Ensures a smooth transition to the next shift by following hand-off communication guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Pay Range*:
$30.65/hr. - $44.45/hr. Qualifications/Work Experience: 1 - 3 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician in an acute care setting Education/Licensure/Certification: Current State of California Medical Laboratory Technician License.
