Position Summary:
The Load Builder is responsible for the unloading of material delivered by vendors as well as building loads for our drivers to deliver. Good communication and customer service skills are necessary at all times when working while conditions may be very demanding. This position requires the ability to safely operate a forklift in order to move materials throughout the yard and to load or unload trucks. Organizational skills are required to place items back in stock and to follow paperwork procedures. Sorting through materials and getting them to the right location using a fork lift or by physical labor is required. Teamwork is essential to work towards a common goal each day and requires the ability to work without supervision.
Primary Responsibility:
The Load Builder communicates with his team to safely move materials around the yard, ensuring efficiencies in loading and unloading of materials.
Objectives:
Loads / Unloads materials from trucks using a fork lift. Maintains essential maintenance on fork lift Moves materials to achieve common daily goals set forth by operations Returns are stocked and communicated to operations. Keeps other yard workers duties in mind while moving and staging materials. Communicates with team. Measurement:
Good communication, no accidents, does not damage materials, operates safely. Materials are moved and stocked efficiently, DVIR is completed daily Good customer service skills, safe handling of materials, stocks and stages materials. Returns don't sit for long periods, overtime needs are communicated to operations. Materials are stored correctly to prevent damage. Doesn't block pathways, communicates with other team member to achieve common goals Listens to how the drivers need their loads stacked, communicates with drivers to ensure return material paperwork is completed. Coaches new team members.
