Salary Range:
$85.24 - $128.84 per hour Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled
Medical Physicist
to join our Radiation Oncology team. The Medical Physicist will work closely with the
Chief Medical Physicist and Dosimetrist
to support the clinical and equipment
Quality Assurance (QA) program
in accordance with
AAPM standards . This role ensures the
safe and effective
delivery of radiation therapy through quality assurance of
linear accelerators, treatment planning, and consultation services .
The Medical Physicist will also collaborate with
physicians, radiation therapists, dosimetrists, nurses, and administrative personnel
to continually improve patient care. Additionally, this role provides
technical expertise
in the adoption of new technologies and looks for opportunities to enhance physics and dosimetry support within the department. Key Responsibilities:
Perform
quality assurance (QA) and calibration
for all radiation therapy equipment in accordance with
accepted protocols and standards of practice . Ensure
high-quality treatment delivery
by participating in
treatment planning, machine QA, and radiation safety programs . Collaborate with
physicians, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists
to optimize patient treatment plans and delivery. Provide
technical support
for the implementation of new technologies and treatment techniques. Maintain compliance with
AAPM, NRC, and state regulations
related to radiation therapy. Participate in
stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and other advanced treatment techniques . Contribute to
continuous improvement initiatives
in radiation therapy services. Qualifications: Education:
Required:
Master's Degree in Medical Physics or Physics Experience:
Required:
Minimum of
three (3) years
of experience in
IMRT, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and related treatment modalities Licensure/Certification:
Required:
Certification in
Therapeutic Radiological Physics
by the
American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
from the
