Position Summary:
The QC Inspector will ensure compliance with all quality standards on piping and welding activities for semiconductor tool installation. This role is critical in maintaining documentation, overseeing inspections, and ensuring all work meets project specifications, regulatory requirements, and CAM quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities: Perform inspections and verifications on piping and welding activities in accordance with AWS/ASME codes and Samsung project requirements. Verify weld procedures, welder qualifications, and ensure weld traceability. Review and inspect materials, fit-ups, welds, and piping systems for compliance with project specifications. Conduct daily QC walkdowns, document findings, and support resolution of non-conformances. Maintain accurate inspection records, weld logs, and material certifications. Support pressure testing, flushing, and high-purity system verification. Ensure materials used in fabrication are per specifications and cleaned and stored as per semi standards. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues. Enforce cleanroom protocols, ESD handling, and contamination control standards. Qualifications:
CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) - Required Minimum 3-5 years of QC experience in piping and welding, preferably within semiconductor, industrial, or high-tech construction. Strong knowledge of welding codes (AWS, ASME) and inspection techniques (VT, PT, MT, pressure testing). Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and technical drawings. Proficiency with quality documentation tools (e.g., Procore, Autodesk, or equivalent). Familiarity with cleanroom environments and contamination prevention practices. Strong communication and documentation skills with attention to detail. Working Conditions:
Frequent exposure to active construction sites and variable weather conditions. Must be able to perform physical tasks including climbing, kneeling, crouching, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and walking for extended periods. Regular inspections may require work in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and controlled cleanroom environments. Willingness to work second/third shifts, weekends, or respond to emergency calls to meet critical project milestones. Use of cleanroom PPE (e.g., bunny suit, respirator) and chemical suits required for certain operations.
