We are looking for an experienced Machine Shop Parts Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing parts produced by production to ensure that they meet required specifications and quality standards.
The applicant must be a US citizen. Access to DoD facilities is required. The company is not able to sponsor a work visa for this position.
Sign On Bonus
Collins Machine Works offers a sign-on bonus in the amount of $2,000 to be paid after six months of satisfactory employment performance. Collins Machine Works also offers employee referral bonuses in the amount of $1,000 per referral to be paid after the referred employee has completed six months of satisfactory employment performance.
Major Responsibilities & Essential Functions A candidate for this position can expect to perform the following tasks:
Conducts visual and dimensional tests using calibrated equipment to ensure the accuracy of in-process and completed parts meet drawing requirements using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges. Determines and uses appropriate inspection processes; creates inspection reports to confirm in-process and completed parts meet customer requirements. Collaborates with the production team to ensure timely and accurate inspections. Confirms and approves the quality of finished parts. Documents and reports nonconforming parts. Participate in root cause analysis meetings when required. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Performs other related duties as assigned. Benefits

At least 5 years of machining experience is preferred; extensive knowledge of machining and machining processes At least 5 years of experience as a quality control inspector preferred; extensive knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques and equipment Ability to Read blueprints and to perform tests and inspections using calibrated instruments Excellent analytical and problem-solving Skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in fast paced environments Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) Language skills - effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language. Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner Additional Requirements
Candidate must be able to pass a background check to gain access to sites that perform work on US DOD Contracts (on-site) Candidate should have a good driving record Physical Requirements
Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. at a time when required May have prolonged periods sitting at a desk working on a computer While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach overhead with hands and arms, stoop, crouch, and kneel
