Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technology Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Radiography (R) by ARRT required Certifications: Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) by ARRT required Must-Have: State Licensure required; BLS required; ACLS preferred Description: The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of complex specialized tasks. This includes operating fluoroscopy, computed tomography, laser, and ultrasonography equipment during vascular and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional procedures. This individual helps develop and implement systems to ensure the smooth flow of patients for procedures in the Interventional labs. Duties for this position include circulating and scrubbing roles during procedures, patient teaching, assisting with patient care, inventory management, and schedule coordination. The IR Technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in quality assurance, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. There is an expectation to participate in ongoing education and safety within the scope of licensure. The IR Technologist will adhere to and maintain the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture. The Technologist meets expectations of applicable competencies, demonstrating adherence to core values. They maintain consistency with policies, demonstrating appropriate behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability. Exceptional physician satisfaction is promoted by providing meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians. All duties are performed in a manner that protects patient confidentiality. The Technologist adapts patient assessment and treatment methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient served. Compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care is required. Examinations and procedures are performed as needed to assist in patient throughput within the scope of licensure. Flexibility is demonstrated by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed. Ensuring completed exams are scanned and stored correctly is required, along with following downtime procedures.
