A Quality Assurance (QA) Technician in the food industry is responsible for ensuring that food products meet established safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role is vital for maintaining product consistency, preventing contamination, and protecting consumer health. Testing and Inspection: Conducting routine and specialized tests on raw materials and finished products. Perform inspections of production areas to verify sanitation and adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMPs). Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of test results, inspection findings, corrective actions, and other relevant information for audits, traceability, and regulatory compliance. Compliance Monitoring: Ensuring that all production activities adhere to established food safety regulations, including those set by the FDA and USDA, and implementing HACCP plans when necessary. Also monitor adherence to other food safety programs like GMPs. Equipment Operation and Calibration: Operating and calibrating laboratory equipment and testing devices to ensure accurate and reliable results. Skills and Qualifications:

Collaboration: Work closely with production staff, quality control team, and other relevant departments to ensure consistent quality and food safety. Attention to Detail: Must be highly detail-oriented to accurately assess products and document findings. Problem-Solving Skills: Able to identify potential problems, analyze their causes, and develop solutions. Communication Skills: Effective communication is crucial for conveying information about quality issues and corrective actions. Knowledge of Food Safety Standards: A solid understanding of food safety principles and regulations (like HACCP) is essential. Technical Skills: Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook, are often required. Physical Abilities: The job may involve standing for extended periods, working in different temperature environments, and lifting objects (depending on the specific role and product).

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
