Industrial Engineering Intern/Co-op

Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX. We are seeking a motivated Industrial Engineering Intern/Co-op to join our team. The intern will support process improvement initiatives, data analysis, and efficiency optimization projects under the guidance of experienced engineers. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in a real-world operations or manufacturing environment. Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity). What You Will Do:

Assist in analyzing workflows, production methods, and process layouts to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Support time and motion studies to collect data and recommend improvements. Create or update process documentation, standard work instructions, and visual aids. Collect and analyze operational data using Excel, SQL, or other tools. Assist in capacity planning, production scheduling, and resource optimization. Present findings and recommendations to team leaders and stakeholders. What You Will Learn:

Learn and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen events, or Six Sigma projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, logistics, etc.) to support ongoing improvement efforts. Learn and develop top findings and make recommendations to team leaders and stakeholders. Qualifications You Must Have:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract. Qualifications We Prefer:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field (Junior or Senior level preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Power BI, SQL) is a plus. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
