Detailed job description includes operating small to medium size motor vehicles for performing discharge and appointment transportation duties, interacting professionally with other healthcare personnel, completing daily vehicle inspection and equipment checklist, and performing patient care duties within the entire scope of practice for EMTs. Required qualifications include EMT licensure by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services within one year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification, personal driver license, class F or higher for Missouri residents, and chauffeur driver license, class E or higher for Missouri residents, within thirty days as a condition of continued employment in this job classification. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired, and additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
