JOIN OUR TEAM AS A GIS FIELD TECHNICIAN II! The Utilities GIS Field Technician II will be responsible for the location and data collection of Pasco County Utilities infrastructure assets. This includes all water, wastewater, and reclaimed water appurtenances in both new and existing developments throughout the County. This position is also responsible for the thorough documentation of field data and taking measurements of existing utilities. This position will work under the direct supervision of the Utilities Mapping & GIS Supervisor. Operates as an essential team member of the Utilities O&M GIS division. Utilizes high-accuracy RTK and GNSS field data collection equipment to verify, locate new assets, and update preexisting assets to the Utilities Master Geodatabase. Ensures accuracy of collected data prior to entry into the Infrastructure Management and GIS Programs. Records field measurements including horizontal locations and vertical elevations. Researches files, property ownership, maps, plans, plats, and other records for historical information. Assists with entering data into GIS and CAD systems. Maintains records and files on all phases of operations. Attends and participates in meetings with contractors, field personnel, and engineers. Creates and maintains paper and electronic files, to include data entry into multiple software programs. Investigates and responds to citizen requests for service. Responsibilities Ability to interpret maps and aerial photos. Ability to utilize Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). Ability to utilize Real Time Kinematics (RTK) and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) mobile data collection devices. Knowledge of a Work Asset Management System (WAMS). Ability to utilize Adobe Acrobat software tools. Ability to collect field data using measuring and recording devices. Ability to work in challenging weather and field environments. Ability to make decisions in accordance with the departmental rules, contracts, regulations, and policies. Knowledge of Utility systems components, operations protocol. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, contractors, engineers, regulatory authorities, and the public. Ability to read and interpret as-built drawings, blueprints, and specifications. A working knowledge of Windows based programs, Outlook, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Knowledge of ESRI web-based applications, ESRI mobile applications, ArcGIS Pro, and AutoCAD. Ability to analyze data and develop logical conclusions. Ability to drive for long durations of time. Ability to use hand tools such as shovel, prybar, valve key, and sledgehammer. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and sit.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift/carry up to 80 pounds and/or maneuver heavy objects such as sewer manhole covers. Requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, and sitting. Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to drive for long durations.

Education, Training and Experience

Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Minimum one (1) year experience performing GIS Data Collection. Experience with ESRI GIS Mobile and Desktop Applications Required.

Licenses, Certifications or Registrations

Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Must possess the following: FDOT Maintenance of Traffic certification, Confined Space certification, Trenching and Shoring certification, CPR training and FEMA Course 100 and FEMA Course 700.
