Building Intelligence Project Manager

Responsibilities
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for BMS installations.
Recognize and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
Review, generate and approve contract documentation; manage project scope and ensure adherence to requirements.
Allocate tasks to team members and monitor progress against the plan.
Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Understand BMS system architecture, components and functionalities; identify appropriate BMS hardware and software based on project needs.
Maintain strong communication with stakeholders, team members, and contractors; manage expectations and address concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct regular project status and financial overview meetings; forecast manpower and finances for team meetings.
Interpret and support engineering submittals and schedules for equipment release and tracking.
Ensure equipment wiring requirements are verified and end devices are installed per project documents and manufacturers instructions.
Support subcontractor installation efforts, manage invoicing, change management, and manpower to maintain schedules across multiple projects.
Oversee system configuration, programming, integration, commissioning documentation, and overall handover to building operators and service teams.
Attend project meetings, communicate progress and issues to stakeholders; identify and communicate roadblocks and changes effectively.
Complete administrative tasks (timesheets, expense reports, site documentation) and produce as-built documentation.
Provide training support to building operators and collaborate with BAS team members; validate system functionality and resolve issues with subcontractors and trades.
Able to lift 50 pounds or more; climbing ladders may be required.
Required Experience
Minimum two-year technical degree in engineering, building automation or related fields.
Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management and quality control.
7 to 9 years of related field experience with building automation systems; Niagara systems preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of at least two vendors’ application programming languages (Johnson Controls, ALC, Siemens, Distech, Honeywell).
Ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and motivate team members; excellent understanding of HVAC and building automation systems.
Follows safety standards and attends required safety training; strong safety mindset for employees and subcontractors.
Strong computer and financial management skills; strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to act independently with good judgment.
Ability to build and maintain relationships and teams.
