Introduction

GavinHeath is partnering with a client in Colorado looking to add a

Scrum Master

to their team. The role is a

Contract-to-Hire

position (approx. 6 months C2H with conversion). This position will support the Technology Division's Agile Practice, driving both team-level execution and organization-wide agile maturity during a period of significant growth and merger integration. Responsibilities Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and Kanban practices, ensuring quality through Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD). Support Product Owners/Managers with backlog health, prioritization, and transparency. Coach teams and leaders across engineering, PMO, marketing, and operations to adopt pragmatic agile practicestailored to context, not dogma. Stand up and refine team operating models (cadence, WIP limits, policies, boards, metrics). Build and maintain delivery dashboards; translate cycle time, lead time, and throughput into actionable insights for executives. Champion mindset shift during an ongoing merger; help integrate agile practices into teams previously unfamiliar with structured delivery. Provide lightweight coaching and workshops for adjacent groups (Operations, Retail, Education) on agile principles and flow literacy.

Qualifications

Required: Proven hands-on experience with both Scrum and Kanban (not just classroom training). Strong ability to apply metrics (cycle time, lead time, throughput) to drive predictability and continuous improvement. Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM, or PMI-ACP), ideally earned several years ago to demonstrate applied practice. Executive-ready communicatorable to explain agile without jargon and influence senior stakeholders. Servant-leader orientation; excels at coaching, influencing without authority, and building team trust.

Preferred: Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, and collaboration tools such as Miro (canonical toolchain to be confirmed). Experience within financial services or other regulated industries. Background supporting teams in merger, scaling, or organizational transformation contexts. Exposure to scaled agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS), applied pragmatically.

Compensation & Logistics

Contract-to-Hire: ~6 months initial contract. Flexible work arrangement: Hybrid/on-site expectations (2-3 days onsite per week). Expected interview process: 23 rounds, including one in-person following initial virtual interviews.
