As we expand our data infrastructure to support our growing portfolio of products, we're looking for a dedicated BI Engineer to design, optimize, and scale our data systems while enabling powerful business intelligence solutions.

Position Overview
As a BI Engineer at Islands, you'll lead the design, development, and optimization of our data infrastructure during this high-growth phase. You'll be the architect of our data systems, building robust pipelines, implementing processes, and creating scalable data models that power our business intelligence solutions. Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data into data warehouses Develop and optimize data models to support business intelligence applications Create and maintain PowerBI dashboards for data visualization and reporting Write complex SQL queries to extract meaningful insights from large datasets Implement batch processing solutions for efficient data handling Utilize AWS services like AWS Glue for data integration and processing Build automated data validation frameworks to ensure data quality and integrity Develop APIs and interfaces for data access and integration across systems Implement data monitoring tools and performance metrics to ensure system reliability Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to productionize data solutions Qualifications
4-6 years of experience building scalable ETL pipelines in fast-moving environments Strong Python skills for data processing and automation Strong SQL expertise for complex query development and optimization Proficiency with PowerBI for dashboard creation and visualization Experience with AWS services, particularly AWS Glue for ETL processes Experience with batch processing frameworks and orchestration tools Proven ability to optimize data models and query performance at scale Experience working with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) Knowledge of data modeling techniques and dimensional modeling Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration Availability to work 40 hours per week on Eastern Standard Time (EST) Bonus Points
