Job Title: Mammography Technologist
Responsible for performing routine screening mammograms and complex diagnostic procedures using digital mammography equipment under the direction of a radiologist.
Operate approved digital imaging equipment following established ACR and FDA guidelines, along with imaging protocols within the mammography program.
Document accurate patient information using EMR and facility reporting systems.
Verify patient identity and procedure details according to university and departmental protocols.
Monitor and record the physiological condition of the patient before and during the procedure.
Ensure compliance with proper safety standards.
Instruct students and residents, performing preceptor duties as necessary.
Conduct quality assurance checks on equipment.
Assist in maintaining supply inventory.
Participate in ongoing service and process improvement efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $33.27 - $53.23 Hourly
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Graduate of a JRC-accredited program in Radiography required; Associate’s Degree preferred. Completion of an FDA-certified Mammography Tech Training Program required.
Experience:
No experience required.
Licensure:
Registered Radiologic Technologist through ARRT (R.T.) required. ARRT (R)(M) certification must be obtained within one year of hire. AHA BLS certification required.
Physical Demands: Requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive), and traveling. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, fumes, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
