We’re seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented professional to support our orthodontist in delivering exceptional patient care. nResponsibilities
nAssist the orthodontist during procedures, including fitting braces, adjusting wires, and placing bands.
nPrepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in compliance with infection control protocols.
nTake and develop X-rays, intraoral scans
nEducate patients on oral hygiene practices, appliance maintenance, and post-treatment care.
nMaintain accurate patient records, treatment notes, and appointment schedules.
nManage inventory to ensure availability of orthodontic supplies and materials.
nProvide a supportive and calming experience for patients, particularly children or those with dental anxiety.
nPerform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and coordinating follow-ups.
nQualifications
nHigh school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred.
nValid Orthodontic Assistant certification or Dental Assistant certification (e.g., DANB Certified Orthodontic Assistant) preferred.
nX-ray certification required (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
nMinimum of 1 year of experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or Dental Assistant with orthodontic exposure.
nStrong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients and team members.
nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
nProficiency with orthodontic instruments, procedures, and software (e.g., (Open Dental or other relevant software)).
nCurrent CPR certification preferred.
