Position: Patient Care Tech/Health Unit Coordinator
Department: Patient Care Unit 5 (PCU5)
Shift: 7:00 am-7:30 pm, Full Time days, 36 hours a week, 72 hours per pay period

A Patient Care Technician, or PCT, is like a super helper in the hospital! They work with nurses and doctors to care for patients differently. They can:

- Check things like temperature, heartbeat, and breathing. n
- Help patients move around, get dressed and eat. n
- Collect samples like blood or urine. n
- Clean and change bandages. n
- Report any changes in a patient's condition to a nurse. n
The PCT works under the supervision of the nurse, which means the nurse makes sure they are doing things safely and correctly. Sometimes, the PCT might also be called a Patient Care Technician/Unit Clerk (PCT/HUC). As HUC, they help with the paperwork and other tasks that keep the hospital running smoothly, which also helps patients get the best care possible!
