Oneida Health is currently seeking a Full time Activities Aide
to join the Leisure Activities Department in our Rehabilitation and Extended Care Facility. In this position, you will play a key role in planning, organizing, and implementing leisure activities for long-term residents. The Activities Aide demonstrates a commitment to the Activities Department and the ability to be innovative and take initiative in program planning. The ideal candidate is willing to work a varied schedule which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What You'll be Great At:
Actively soliciting each resident's participation in activity programs through demonstrated enthusiasm. Posting weekly and monthly special events to each unit in a timely manner, as well as delivering weekly and monthly activity calendars directly to residents. Providing opportunity for socialization, one-on-one visits, sensory stimulation, and/or individual activity projects for those who are unable to participate in formal programs. Maintaining accurate record keeping upon admissions and transfers of residents; updating attendance sheets, religious sheets, and birthday sheets in a timely manner. Assists with inventory and maintaining neat, clean storage of activity supplies and equipment in appropriate areas. Decorating resident units to correlate with planned activities and/or upcoming holidays or significant events. Familiarizing self with resident needs, issues, and goals to appropriately support care plans. Supervising residents during community outing and all in-house activities to ensure safety. Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (Required) CNA Certification (Preferred)
Experience:
1-2 years of Direct Support or Nursing Home Care experience (Preferred)
