Senior Data Scientist, Amazon Global Selling - AIT
Amazon Global Selling has been helping individuals and businesses increase sales and reach new customers around the globe. Today, more than 50% of Amazon's total unit sales come from third-party selection. The Global Selling team in China is responsible for recruiting local businesses to sell on Amazon’s 19+ overseas marketplaces, and supporting local Sellers’ success and growth on the Amazon.
The Amazon Global Selling Analytics, Intelligence, and Tools (AGS-AIT) team serves as the research, automation, and insight arm of the International Seller Service data hub, enabling rapid delivery of growth insights through strategic investments in regional data foundations, self-service business intelligence solutions, and artificial intelligence tools.
AGS-AIT is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to lead and drive Gen-AI and Science initiatives. In this role, you will apply advanced analytics techniques, AI/ML, and statistical concepts to derive insights from massive datasets. The ideal candidate should have expertise in AI/ML, statistical analysis, and the ability to write code for building models and pipelines to automate data and analytics processing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with BIE, DE, PM, CSM to research, design, develop, and evaluate generative AI solutions to address Global Selling challenges.
- Interact with stakeholders directly to understand their business problems, aid them in implementation of generative AI solutions, brief stakeholders and guide them on adoption patterns and paths to production.
- Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations adapted to technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
About the team: The Asia Global Selling Analytics, Intelligence, and Tools (AGS-AIT) team serves as the most advanced regional data hub, enabling rapid delivery of growth insights through strategic investments in regional data foundations, self-service business intelligence solutions, and artificial intelligence tools.
Basic Qualifications
Requirements:
- 8+ years of data scientist or similar role involving data extraction, analysis, statistical modeling and communication experience.
- 6+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience.
- Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science.
- Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression.
- 5+ years of hands on experience with Python to build, train, and evaluate models.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred experience:
- 2+ years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc. experience.
- Experience managing data pipelines.
- Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team.
- Experience working with data engineers and business intelligence engineers collaboratively.
