Shift Hours: 4:00 PM 2:30 AM Pay Rate: $20.00/hr Location: Decatur, Tn Employment Type: Full-time Temp-to-Hire
Job Title
Production MIG Welder Department: Welding Reports To: 2nd Shift Supervisor
Position Summary
Express Employment Professionals is hiring 2nd Shift MIG Welders in Decatur, TN. This role is responsible for fitting, tacking, and finish welding metal parts to meet production and quality standards. Ideal candidates will have strong welding skills, blueprint reading ability, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Fit parts together, tack into place, and perform finish welds Follow blueprints and work instructions accurately Inspect work for quality and accuracy Wear and maintain all required PPE Operate JIB and overhead cranes safely Maintain accurate production counts and documentation Collaborate with team members and leadership Flexibility to perform other duties as needed Essential Functions
Clock into jobs using a computer system (Epicor) Retrieve and assemble parts in welding fixtures Tack and complete specified welds per design Inspect finished product for conformance to specs Meet or exceed daily production goals Required Skills & Qualifications
Must pass a MIG weld test Ability to read and interpret blueprints Strong attention to detail and workmanship Basic computer skills (job tracking, logging time) Good communication and problem-solving abilities Strong commitment to safety and quality Reliable with excellent attendance Experience using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers) Behavioral Expectations
Positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to manage time efficiently Works well independently and in a team setting Follows directions and company policies Willingness to adapt and help in other areas when needed Physical Requirements
Stand for full 8-hour shift (with occasional overtime) Regular bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), squatting, and reaching Use of hands for welding and equipment handling Must wear required PPE including steel-toe boots and safety glasses Why Work with Express?
