Our Hotel Security team remains knowledgeable of hotel security policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and is familiar with emergency procedures, operation of alarm doors, fire alarms, and key orientation.
Responsibilities
- Patrol allocated areas of the hotel and property, watch for suspicious, irregular, prohibited, or dangerous activities, situations, or persons as outlined in hotel policy.
- Monitor and secure the premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and to safeguard doors, windows, and gates.
- Manage the collection, safeguarding, and redistribution of lost and found items.
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances; address violators and complainants and take action to resolve disturbances in the hotel’s best interests.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security.
- Warn violators of rules and infractions; expel persons who pose danger to the hotel's well-being and follow up to ensure compliance.
- Call police, fire department, or ambulance in emergencies or when encountering dangerous or threatening conditions.
- Notify or warn guests and staff of dangerous conditions or areas and provide guidance during emergencies, following up to ensure safety.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, or unusual occurrences.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality of all information and work as part of a team with security officers, staff, and other departments.
- Maintain logs or records of activity during scheduled shifts and inspect/adjust security systems and equipment as needed.
- Support hotel staff with additional duties described by the GM at time of hiring, including houseman support duties.
- Use radio procedures, know zone orientations, and operate telephone communications as part of daily duties.
- Provide assistance and information to guests when necessary and maintain a professional image through appearance and dress.
