Who will you be working with?

Shuttlewagon, a Wabtec Company is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor that will be responsible to supervise and assign work activities to warehouse employees. This role will work with leaders from various departments as well as customers to ensure the warehouse is operating in the best way to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Services Division, you will be responsible ensuring the warehouse operates at optimum efficiency overseeing safety, shipping, receiving, picking of internal/external customer orders, kanban replenishment, cycle counts, kitting and returns.

What do we want to know about you?

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in a warehouse environment

  • Strong leadership abilities, previous experience preferred

  • Excellent team-building, operational, problem-solving, organizational and planning skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Experience with or ability to learn Syspro and Oracle

  • Working knowledge of shipping software

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Project management skills

  • Attention to detail

What will your typical day look like?

  • Oversee warehouse and shipping areas including: Filling and shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements, ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation, receiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnel, filling work orders for production, packaging assemblies and receiving into finished goods, ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged and oversee cycle counts.

  • Perform all tasks within their department, including but not limited to; Shipping/Receiving of outgoing & incoming material, Perform Cycle counting, accurately pull parts for production areas and accurately stock parts in warehouse locations

  • Ability to lead in a team environment, and understand the importance of driving a continuous improvement culture

  • Ensures that all procedures and requirements are properly followed to accomplish assigned tasks.

  • Constantly plan out all warehouse resources and activities in relation to company objectives.

  • Audit internal/external customer orders to ensure accuracy of contents and placement.

  • Execute internal order management system to achieve on-time delivery goals.

  • Investigate and report warehouse discrepancies/ Perform Cycle counting

  • Safe operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, and other lifting devices

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Coach and develop team members to meet or exceed customer expectations

  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and professionalism

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Nordco’s policies and procedures

  • Develop warehouse employees by internal/on-job training.

  • Perform safety/5S/job function audits with direct reports on a monthly basis

  • Interview, hire and train associates

  • Ensure that proper housekeeping is maintained throughout warehouse

  • Ensures that all tasks and functions of warehouse positions are performed in a safe manner at all times

  • Champions safety programs and all required safety training for warehouse personnel

  • Lead warehouse operations through lean process and behavior changes, developing highly effective Daily Management processes focused on tools such as basic problem solving, kaizen, A3 thinking, value stream mapping, Kanban visual management, pull processes, creation of flow and adherence to standard work.

What about the physical demands of the job?

  • Employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products

  • You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

  • Minimal travel
