CONTEXT: Our client is seeking a skilled and adaptable Heavy Equipment Mechanic with hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, including CAT equipment, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic tools. This floater position requires flexibility to operate across multiple shop locations within San Antonio, ensuring optimal equipment performance and supporting various teams as needed.
Compensation is dependent on level of experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and bulldozers, focusing on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions promptly.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and shop personnel to coordinate repairs and share technical knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on each task.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
- Travel between various company locations within San Antonio to provide mechanical support as required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, specifically with trailer trucks is preferred.
- Previous experience working in ready-mix or concrete is highly preferred.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems in heavy equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different shop environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
