Responsibilities
This position serves as a human resource generalist with key areas of contribution in recruitment efforts, reporting, and employee lifecycle paperwork. The HR Generalist will serve as a resource to employees and collaborate with members of the campus community, developing collegial working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels. This role requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, has excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills, and can act with integrity and professionalism including sensitivity to personal and confidential information.
- Facilitate the recruitment processing including providing assistance to users in the applicant tracking system; monitor positions as they are created, posted, and closed; provide training on search procedures and navigation; assist candidates and users with questions to move through the hiring process smoothly; troubleshoot issues; maintain data in system.
- Assist with reports, surveys, and lists including state and federal requests, SUNY requests, data management, and requests from various departments.
- Understand and process all types of paperwork for an employee’s life cycle which includes job posting, onboarding, new hire, contracts, performance programs, training, retention, and exit interviews.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- Progressively responsible experience as a professional in human resource management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws including state and federal employment.
- Experience working with HRIS and other web-based management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in report writing software.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional experience in human resource management in a public, unionized setting.
- Professional experience in human resource management in a higher education setting.
