The Janitor independently cleans restrooms, offices, break rooms, locker rooms, kitchenettes/pantries, showers, stairwells, corridors, elevators/escalators, and other work areas. Duties involve a combination of the following: sweeping and mopping floors; removing trash and other materials for recycling; dusting furniture or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; replenishing restroom supplies.
- Cleaning offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, escalators, break room, library, kitchenette, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
- Sweeping, floors using brooms, and mops.
- Cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using a vacuum cleaner.
- Dusting furniture and equipment.
- Polishing metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
- Washing walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
- Washing door panels and sills.
- Emptying wastebaskets.
- Transporting trash to disposal area and recycle to designated areas.
- Replenishing restroom supplies.
- Responsible for producing quality work.
- Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake policy.
- Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
- Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.
Education:
- High School diploma/GED or 6 months previous custodial work experience.
- Ability to carry out simple but detailed instructions.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers.
- Must possess a positive team member attitude.
- Ability to interact effectively with employees with disabilities.
- Ability to work in environments with narrow, moving, and/or slippery surfaces.
- Must successfully pass a drug test.
- Access to the work site for this position may require a valid Real ID as of May 7th, 2025.
