Overview
General Summary: Provides support to the family practice department by supporting all POD administrative duties. Communicates with pods, providers, clinic leaders, and patients to aid in completion of RMH/HEDIS reports, phone messages, refill requests, rescheduling, and chart prep as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the PODs, clinical support staff and providers on assigned duties such as RMH/HEDIS reports, phone note completion, Rx refill requests, rescheduling, chart prep and form completion as needed.
- Helps clinic leadership with All Hands-on Deck coordination of patients as needed.
- Communicates with clinic leadership upon completion of assigned duties.
- Collaborates with the Medication Adherence Team to help improve medication adherence metrics.
- Assists in providing coverage in pods as needed, including triage, discharge, and carrying orders from the providers.
- Accesses the electronic medical record to obtain/provide pertinent information, reports appropriate information to the provider, and documents accordingly.
- Maintains alignment with departmental goals, including RMH visits, HEDIS measures, and providing quality care using available tools and reports to support organizational goals.
- Transports patients safely and assists with mobility and daily needs as required (e.g., transfers, assisting to bathroom, wheelchair assistance).
- Prioritizes patient safety and helps prevent potential falls as needed.
Education and Training
Minimum: High school education or equivalent. Requires a certificate from an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent medical training. CPR with AED required and must be kept current. National certification as a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant is required for continued employment at Gonzaba Medical Group. National Certification must be issued by AAMA (CMA), ARMA (RMA), NAHP (NRCMA), or other GMG-approved association.
Experience
Experience in a clinic, doctor’s office or hospital with a minimum of one-year experience preferred.
Other Requirements
Computer Skills: Proficient in EMR systems and general computer software (word processing, spreadsheets, Internet, databases).
Work Environment
Clinic environment with exposure to typical clinical conditions and materials.
Mental / Physical Requirements
Requires manual dexterity, ability to sit/stand, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs. Visual acuity and focus required; ability to work under pressure.
