Senior Reporter, Technology & Engineering, Scientific American
Scientific American seeks an experienced senior reporter to cover technology and engineering across platforms and formats.
The senior reporter must be able to own their beat, know what’s going to happen before it happens, have the best and brightest contacts in the field, and have their own devoted readers. We’re open to anyone who can show us they are a trusted expert in their area of technology or engineering coverage.
Role Responsibilities:
- Break news and land exclusive stories
- Be an influencer and essential voice in your chosen area of coverage
- Use news and feature stories, video and audio, and social media to cover your beat
- Coordinate with news editors and junior reporters to make sure breaking news gets covered
- Collaborate with colleagues on our Engagement and Multimedia teams
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience as a full-time beat reporter
- A history of landing exclusives and breaking news
- An extensive network of sources and experts in your beat area
- An ability to show voice and personality in your writing and reporting
- A track record of telling stories in multiple formats
- A smart and vibrant social media presence

US Annualized Base Salary: $105,000 - $120,000.
