Overview

Parts Authority is a leading national distributor of automotive replacement parts, tools/equipment and transmissions. Headquartered in Long Island, New York, Parts Authority is rapidly expanding and today has more than 300 locations servicing customers nationwide.

We have immediate career opportunities for Delivery Drivers in our rapidly expanding division. Our drivers are company representatives who interact with clients daily and must have excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner.
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure orders are complete, charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
• Follow directions from the dispatcher, adhere to routes and schedules, use route navigation apps, and know the area to deliver on time.
• Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles without interfering with operations at the customer’s location.
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints professionally.
• Abide by transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
• Accept payments, prepare reports (invoices, return forms), and reconcile money collected related to deliveries.
• Complete daily vehicle maintenance checks when applicable and notify the manager of issues.
• Assist in other store/warehouse duties (stocking, parts pulling) as assigned.
• Maintain and promote workplace safety.
• Secure and transfer cash or other assets as needed.

Qualifications

• Current, valid driver’s license
• Must meet company insurance requirements (drivers must be 21 years old or over)
• Current valid automobile insurance with your name on the policy
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds; auto body parts drivers may be able to lift 75 pounds

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to manage, track, and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credit balances
• Ability to use a tablet or mobile device for navigation, route optimization, tracking, and customer interface/signature capture
• Exceptional customer and verbal communication skills; professional, tactful, and diplomatic
• Ability to follow directions and work well as part of a team
• Flexible schedule with ability to work overtime as needed
• Previous delivery driving experience is a plus
