Forklift Operator Zeeland
Schedule: Mon-Fri. 7am to 3pm
Role Summary: Works under the direct supervision of the Production Manager (Paperboard). Provides excellent customer service by assuring all activities associated with the safe and efficient operation of a forklift.
What You'll Do
- Operation and care of forklift or clamp truck in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate both.
- Complete and document equipment inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
- Unload incoming raw materials and stage product for delivery to production.
- Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time.
- Provide support to manufacturing by moving products to and from production areas.
- Stage finished goods in the warehouse.
- Load finished goods onto outgoing trucks in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
- Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer.
- Adhere to daily production schedule. Make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
- Assist other forklift operators as necessary.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping in shipping and departments.
- Support and adhere to internal quality and safety programs.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for an extended number of hours per shift, walk, bend, twist, stoop, squat, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee is frequently required to talk or hear.
- The employee is required to reach with fingers, hands, and arms.
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions.
- The employee must regularly lift, push or pull and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The job is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, varying temperatures, and moving mechanical parts.
- Safety gear must be worn as required.

- Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and motivational skills.
- Ability to maintain diplomacy, confidentiality, and tact essential, as individual interacts with all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to work with frequently changing priorities.
