Forklift Operator Zeeland

Schedule: Mon-Fri. 7am to 3pm

Role Summary: Works under the direct supervision of the Production Manager (Paperboard). Provides excellent customer service by assuring all activities associated with the safe and efficient operation of a forklift.

What You'll Do

• Operation and care of forklift or clamp truck in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate both.
• Complete and document equipment inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Unload incoming raw materials and stage product for delivery to production.
• Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time.
• Provide support to manufacturing by moving products to and from production areas.
• Stage finished goods in the warehouse.
• Load finished goods onto outgoing trucks in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
• Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer.
• Adhere to daily production schedule. Make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
• Assist other forklift operators as necessary.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping in shipping and departments.
• Support and adhere to internal quality and safety programs.

• Must be able to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions.
• The employee must regularly lift, push or pull and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The job is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, varying temperatures, and moving mechanical parts.
• Safety gear must be worn as required.

• Ability to maintain diplomacy, confidentiality, and tact essential, as individual interacts with all levels of the organization.
• Must be able to work with frequently changing priorities.
