Overview
Aquila's Fitness Specialist assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in a health/fitness center. This is a fully in-person position in Worcester, MA.
The pay rate is $24.04 per hour, with a 40 hour work week, 8 hours per weekday. The start date for the position is expected to be January 1, 2026. Candidates must be able to work in person 40 hours a week, 8 hours daily, Monday to Friday. There is no weekend work. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on alternating days. The location is Worcester, MA.

Responsibilities Include
- Teach group fitness classes
- Conduct personal training sessions
- Supervise exercise areas
- Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
- Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
- Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
- Aid members – spotting and equipment usage
- Explain all equipment
- Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
- Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
- Adhere to client’s policies and procedures
- Attend staff meetings
- Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
- Perform daily administrative duties
Qualifications
- B.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related health/fitness field OR an active NCCA accredited national fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NSCA or other NCCA accredited certification)
- Active CPR certification
- 1+ years experience supervising adults during exercises
