Job Summary
  • The Project Manager will lead and oversee a portfolio of projects or project teams, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline while minimizing operational disruptions.
  • This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to facilitate discussions, resolve conflicts, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate project activities including planning, design, execution, and review to ensure successful delivery within budget and timelines.
  • Monitor and control project resources, maintaining accurate financial and progress forecasts.
  • Implement tracking mechanisms to provide timely updates on project progress, risks, and decisions to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Identify and resolve potential resource conflicts or scheduling issues with corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders (consultants, procurement, business teams) to support collaboration and project progression.
  • Oversee team workload, ensuring staff are fully utilized to meet project goals.
  • Challenge existing processes and systems to drive efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop assigned project resources, managing priorities and workload allocation.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including approvals and permits as required.

Additional Responsibilities (Band D level):
  • Lead project/program initiation processes, including charter development, risk identification, resource planning, and managing interdependencies.
  • Ensure projects/programs are assessed, designed, and scheduled in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Partner with business units and stakeholders to develop business cases that drive cost savings, foster innovation, and prevent operational disruption.
  • Promote best practices in project management, challenging the existing framework to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
  • Negotiate and approve changes to project criteria and objectives, balancing operational needs with improved outcomes.
  • Champion corporate safety, environmental, and teamwork principles to achieve objectives and improve performance.
  • Develop and execute change management strategies, ensuring long-term adoption and success of new initiatives

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of project management fundamentals, practices, and methodologies.
  • Experience managing operational systems and processes within a project environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management software.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills to assess risks, manage budgets, and meet timeline requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and facilitate effective conflict resolution.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Band D level or equivalent experience)
  • Experience leading complex programs or portfolios with interdependencies.
  • Proven ability to develop business cases and drive cost savings or efficiency initiatives.
  • Advanced financial analysis and forecasting skills.
  • Strong track record in change management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience negotiating project scope and criteria with stakeholders to optimize outcomes.
