Project Manager / Estimator - Mechanical (HVAC Focus)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Project Manager / Estimator with a strong background in mechanical systems, particularly in HVAC air-side projects. This role is responsible for reviewing engineered plans, preparing accurate mechanical estimates, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and managing projects through successful completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review mechanical plans and specifications for HVAC and sheet metal systems
  • Perform material takeoffs and develop complete bids (materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment)
  • Design and identify resources for installation, retrofit, and repair projects
  • Work with purchasing, vendors, and subcontractors to gather accurate cost data
  • Coordinate with internal teams to meet bid deadlines and project requirements
  • Conduct site surveys and equipment evaluations for owner-direct replacement, redesign, or retrofit opportunities
  • Present proposals to customers and manage projects as needed
  • Monitor work progress on job sites to ensure schedules and expectations are met
  • Provide technical support to field technicians
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical estimating or installation (required)
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, air distribution, refrigeration, and building automation (required)
  • Proficiency in CAD and BIM (required)
  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Strong math, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to learn and use ERP/project management systems
Work Environment:
This role involves both office-based work and regular visits to active job sites, which may include construction environments with uneven terrain and moving equipment.

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to safely access and navigate construction sites.
