Senior Accountant - Venture Capital - New York, NY

We are seeking candidates for a Senior Accountant position with an industry leading Venture Capital firm that invests in early-stage technology companies located in New York, NY. The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and support financial reporting, strengthen operational controls, and contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance processes while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across multiple entities and jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of corporate accounting experience.

Senior Accountant - Venture Capital - New York, NY

We are seeking candidates for a Senior Accountant position with an industry leading Venture Capital firm that invests in early-stage technology companies located in New York, NY. The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and support financial reporting, strengthen operational controls, and contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance processes while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across multiple entities and jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of corporate accounting experience.

This is a 3+ month contract-to-hire position that will pay $55-65/hr (depending on experience). All qualified candidates who are 100% remote will be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close activities, including account reconciliations, management and quarterly reporting, and US GAAP financial reporting for the Management Company and its subsidiaries.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data, including journal entries, cash bookings, and general ledger maintenance.
• Optimize finance operations and accounts payable processes, including invoice handling, expense reimbursements, vendor payments, and reconciliation.
• Manage treasury functions, including daily cash reporting and cash account reconciliations.
• Prepare standard and ad hoc journal entries for review (e.g., fixed assets, depreciation, prepaid expenses, deferred revenue, payroll, and accruals).
• Monitor and strengthen internal controls to support compliance and risk mitigation.
• Support the implementation of new technologies to improve close processes and efficiency.
  
  

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong grasp of US GAAP.
• Proficiency in NetSuite is REQUIRED.
• Experience with Concur strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with finance operations/AP processes is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across remote and cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver accurate financial reporting.
• Experience using AI and automation tools to streamline accounting workflows.
