Koniag Management Solutions is seeking an experienced GitLab Solutions Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of GitLab solutions for our organization and clients. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in GitLab's complete DevOps platform who can translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with GitLab's CI/CD capabilities, security features, and enterprise-level implementations, with the ability to architect complete DevOps workflows. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: The GitLab Solutions Architect will serve as the technical authority on GitLab implementations, providing expert guidance on architecture design, best practices, and strategic implementations. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure, and efficient GitLab solutions that meet business objectives and technical requirements. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Design and architect comprehensive GitLab solutions that address business needs while adhering to best practices

Create technical architecture documentation, including diagrams, workflows, and implementation plans

Develop GitLab implementation strategies including installation, configuration, and integration with other systems

Guide teams on optimizing GitLab CI/CD pipelines for efficiency, security, and compliance

Provide expert consultation on GitLab's capabilities across the entire DevOps lifecycle (Plan, Create, Verify, Package, Release, Configure, Monitor)

Conduct technical assessments of existing GitLab implementations and provide recommendations for improvements

Design scalable GitLab infrastructure solutions for enterprise environments

Architect security controls and compliance measures within GitLab implementations

Create migration strategies for moving to GitLab from other DevOps tools

Develop custom solutions leveraging GitLab APIs and integration capabilities

Lead proof-of-concept implementations and technical demonstrations

Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement GitLab best practices

Stay current with GitLab product updates and new features to continually enhance solutions

Provide technical mentorship and knowledge transfer to development and operations teams

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

5+ years of experience in DevOps, software development, or systems engineering

3+ years of hands-on experience with GitLab, including CI/CD, security features, and administration

Experience designing and implementing enterprise-level GitLab solutions

Track record of successful technical architecture design and implementation

Required Skills and Competencies: Expert knowledge of GitLab's complete DevOps platform and its components

Deep understanding of GitLab CI/CD capabilities, including advanced pipeline configurations

Strong experience with GitLab administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance

Knowledge of GitLab security features (SAST, DAST, container scanning, dependency scanning)

Experience with GitLab's integration capabilities and API

Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes)

Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and tools (Terraform, Ansible)

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and GitLab deployment models

Knowledge of version control best practices and Git workflows

Understanding of software development lifecycle and modern DevOps practices

Experience with GitLab Runners configuration and optimization

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues

Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts to various audiences

Experience creating technical documentation and architecture diagrams

Understanding of enterprise security requirements and compliance frameworks

Desired Skills and Competencies: GitLab certifications or recognized expertise

Experience with large-scale GitLab enterprise implementations

Understanding of value stream management concepts

Experience with database configuration and optimization for GitLab

Knowledge of advanced monitoring and observability solutions

Experience migrating from other CI/CD tools to GitLab

Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (NIST, FedRAMP, etc.)

Experience with implementing custom GitLab integrations

Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and integration with GitLab

Experience with high availability and disaster recovery planning for GitLab

Background in performance optimization for large-scale GitLab deployments

Experience mentoring teams on GitLab best practices

Familiarity with software composition analysis and supply chain security
