The Assistant Professor of Recreation and Sport Management is a 9-month, full-time faculty position. Primary duties include: Establishing a research agenda capable of securing external funding Publishing in peer-reviewed journals Presenting at professional conferences Teaching graduate and undergraduate classes in Recreation and Sport Management Supervising theses, dissertations, and honors projects Mentoring/advising undergraduate and graduate students Providing service to the department, college, university, community, and profession Maintaining regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance and fostering collegial working relationships Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Recreation and Sport Management or related field conferred by the start of employment An established or emerging research agenda focused on college athletics or a related area Evidence of refereed publications and presentations Potential for securing external funding Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience at the collegiate level (undergraduate and graduate) Experience teaching in the area of college athletics Experience working in the field of Recreation and Sport Management or related field Evidence of effective student mentoring/advising Experience with grant writing/management Additional Information
