Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer – z/OS ISV (Remote - United States). Position JR011987. Responsibilities
Installation and maintenance of Mainframe Systems Infrastructure software (including z/OS and/or ISV products) in support of Software Lifecycle Management. Incident / Problem resolution and coordination with vendors as needed. Research, testing, and implementation of new z/OS operating systems and other system software; maintenance and debugging of systems software. Monitoring and tuning of system software; configuration and customization; setup of parameters; PARMLIB configuration and JES2 customization. Provide technical guidance, participate in technical projects, and lead problem solving and coordination of multi-disciplinary groups. Strong knowledge of z/OS components, Tape management, security, monitoring systems, and other z/OS supporting software. Advanced knowledge of TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL; experience with Unix System Services (USS) and USS file system management and security; experience installing software within USS. Qualifications
Required Qualifications Minimum of 10+ years of experience within a mainframe environment in a large enterprise or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience. Knowledge and understanding of z/OS and z/OS installation and maintenance including SMP/E. Advanced knowledge of TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL. Advanced knowledge of Unix System Services (USS) including file system management and security. Experience installing software within USS. Ability to work well as a team member; strong collaboration and teamwork skills. Stress resistance in Major Incident or emergency situations; exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Customer service skills at management level; ability to liaise with cross-functional teams and mentor junior team members. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; methodical and disciplined approach; strong planning and organizational skills. Other Qualifications Ability to perform the skill set of a Mainframe System Programmer; ability to perform complex ISV installations and lead complex projects. Mentoring and leadership qualities; knowledge of z/OS security and z/OS systems programming functions. Knowledgeable in DB2, CICS or IMS; understanding of z/OS services structure, Parallel Sysplex, and Catalog management. Benefits
