Oracle We are looking for an engineering lead/architect with distributed systems experience. You should have experience with the design of major features and launching them into production. You've operated high-scale services and understand how to make them more resilient. You have the ability to drive projects and tasks independently as well as provide technical leadership for development teams. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and get a lot done – you've worked on services that are highly available, scalable, and redundant. You understand that simple systems are easier to operate and troubleshoot. You can balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements. You've made life easier for other developers and have motivated your teams to make both process and service improvements with your ability to automate and instrument properly to get the right data. You understand operational excellence and how to instill a culture of being proactive with your teammates. The person in this role will get a lot done on a daily basis, drive tactical execution of features and projects, and own feature design. Responsibilities As a Consulting Member of Technical Staff on the Infrastructure Delivery Engineering team, your responsibilities will include leading system design of major features and services, mentoring other engineers, collaborating with product managers and leadership, writing high quality code at a high rate of speed, improving the extent of our code coverage and development processes and the automation of our testing and deployments. Preferred Qualifications A BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering 8-10+ years of full stack software development, design, implementation and operation of distributed services Experience driving architecture & functional reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working with Product Managers through the entire launch process. Hands-on experience building and operating entire systems and services. Strong product development experience in Java, Python, Golang, JavaScript Expert in REST API design and designing multi-tenant systems Working familiarity with browser UIs, TCP/IP, HTTP and standard network architectures Good understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies Experience providing technical leadership. Ability to implement or lead multiple key-projects in parallel. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only. US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 - $251,600 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
