to support our government customer located in
O'ahu, Hawai'i . The position requires hands-on experience in infrastructure cabling support for enterprise networks for both Inside and Outside Plant. This role will work as part of a team that provides all circuit installation and maintenance services as required for the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) Hawaii. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Install, troubleshoot, and maintain video and data cables, as well as copper and fiber cabling and infrastructure, in accordance with organizational standards. Organize and assemble necessary materials and equipment for cable installations. Interpret and verify service orders, drawings, specifications, special requirements, and instructions. Run, pull, terminate, and splice copper and fiber optic cables, including CAT5, SE, CAT6, low voltage cables, and fiber, following industry standards and manufacturer guidelines. Mount telecommunications equipment, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards. Select appropriate cable pathways and conduct site surveys for clients. Assist in the design, creation, and implementation of standards and specifications for cable installations. Maintain accurate inventory records for parts, tools, and supplies. Install closet hardware, such as connecting blocks, fiber enclosures, racks, backboards, and patch panels. Perform various tasks within the telecommunication industry, including wiring practices, underground work, color coding, terminations, understanding signal flow and signal path, and handling DSL and Ethernet connections. May be required to work overtime. Rotational callback and emergency duty are requirements of this position. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Must have attended cable splicing and installation trainings. Associate's degree preferred BICSI Certification preferred REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Cable splicing and installation training required Experience with TMS for cable documentation DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience as a technician preferred. Experience performing in a DoD IT environment preferred. CAIRS training desired. REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE: Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
