Job Title: Lamination Operator
Job Description
As a Lamination Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating extrusion and lamination machines, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safe operating conditions. You will also play a key role in troubleshooting, inspecting finished products, and providing training and leadership to extrusion assistants.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate all extrusion lines in the department.
Check and maintain product quality, width, gauge, treat, clarity, and roll appearance.
Ensure quality, production, and safe operation of equipment by checking machine operating conditions.
Assist with or perform screen and die changes.
Meet product quality, safety, and production standards.
Ensure extruders or laminators operate at maximum output.
Train and provide leadership to extrusion assistants.
Complete shift reports, production forms, and process conditions documentation.
Follow AIB guidelines.
Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor immediately.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
Participate in ongoing Continuous Improvement (CI) and focus improvement processes.
Understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.
Perform miscellaneous duties as required by supervision.
Essential Skills
Experience in extrusion and lamination operations.
Mechanical skills.
Minimum of 2 years working on extrusion or lamination line.
Working knowledge of polyethylene resins and extrusion conditions.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide production figures.
Ability to weigh in pounds and ounces, measure in feet and inches, and gauge film in thousandths of an inch.
Ability to use measuring tape and metric measurement tape.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a flexible packaging company.
Flexographic printing experience.
Adhesive measuring and mixing.
Attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Work Environment
Work in a flexible packaging environment with extrusion and lamination departments operating two shifts: 5am-5pm and 5pm-5am. The average schedule is Monday-Thursday, offering 3 or 4 day weekends. The facility is not air-conditioned but is kept comfortable with large fans, and water and cold treat stations are available during hot days. As it's a food and medical packaging environment, employees must wear hairnets and masks. The noise level is typically 80-90 decibels, and employees work near moving mechanical parts, with exposure to fumes and airborne particles.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr.
