Senior Substation Site Civil Engineer

Leidos Leidos is seeking a Senior Substation Site Civil Engineer to join our site/civil department to work on a variety of electric utility projects. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic and talented person to join a team of outstanding professionals and apply the latest technology to help our clients solve their most challenging problems. Typical projects involve site/civil design engineering for both large and small scale utility projects. Candidates who have commercial/industrial site development experience will also be considered. The candidate will primarily function as a senior engineer performing design reviews, developing junior staff, and contributing to bids and proposal development. The role includes taking a responsible engineering role on client projects, overseeing work, and ensuring quality control on design packages. Site visits to client substation facilities are expected, with occasional travel for client meetings and industry events. The candidate must comply with quality control and safe work practices and maintain compliance with project scope, schedule and budget expectations. This position is a senior member of a design team comprising engineers, designers and drafting technicians. Location:
Ideal candidate will reside in the Framingham, MA area but all qualified candidates living in the U.S. will be considered. Responsibilities
Land development permitting including NPDES, stormwater management, and knowledge of other typical local, state, and/or federal regulations and permit requirements Research additional site data through various sources Site layout, grading, and drainage design Stormwater modeling and design Erosion and sediment control design Access road design Utility coordination and design Retaining wall layout and design Documentation of all supporting calculations Quantity take-offs Construction drawings Construction specifications Construction observation and field engineering Coordination and collaboration with other design disciplines Required Experience & Education
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering 4+ years of directly applicable civil-site design experience EI/EIT certification preferred Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation OpenSite Designer Experience with Hydraflow, ICPR, or other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design programs Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other software tools Strong analytical and technical writing skills Team player with ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff Able to execute projects and handle clients with limited supervision Willing to travel up to 25% Authorized to work in the U.S. Grow with us
