Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead with deep expertise in Java Spring Boot, API & Microservices architecture, cloud-native development (GKE/Kubernetes), integration patterns, event-driven systems, and modern identity management. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer who can lead design and delivery of scalable platforms, champion a data driven continuous learning engineering culture, and drive enterprise and industry standards, ensuring security and compliance, and mentoring engineering teams. Responsibilities Technical Leadership Lead a team of engineers in designing, building, and deploying scalable, mission critical, enterprise applications. Define and enforce enterprise architecture patterns, industry standards, and compliance requirements. Partner with product managers and architects across multiple applications to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Conduct peer reviews of design and code to ensure quality and adherence to best practices. Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a robust engineering culture in an environment of continuous learning & development. Develop and optimize SQL queries; troubleshoot data-related issues across multiple application layers & databases like PostgreSQL, Oracle, and NoSQL. Contribute to the development of the organization’s multi-year technology roadmap. Full Stack Engineering Design and develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture. Develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs with strong security, scalability, and observability principles. Lead the migration of applications from PCF (Tanzu) to Kubernetes. Drive key decisions for technical and architectural options analysis across broader supply chain organization. Cloud & Platform Engineering Deploy, manage, and optimize workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and other cloud-native services. Implement containerized solutions, automated pipelines, and GitOps principles for deployment and scaling. Integration & Event-Driven Architecture Design and implement integration patterns with third-party APIs, enterprise systems, and SaaS environments. Build event-driven and asynchronous solutions leveraging Kafka, Pub/Sub, Google Cloud Functions, or equivalent. Ensure solutions are secure, resilient, and support high availability. Identity & Security Expertise in designing and securing RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Security with OAuth2, API gateway Apigee, Postman Drive best practices for application security, compliance, and enterprise identity standards. Mentorship & Collaboration Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote a culture of learning, empowerment, and innovation. Drive cross-team collaboration with QA, DevOps, and Product teams to ensure smooth delivery. Qualifications 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a Tech Lead role preferred. Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, RESTful APIs preferred. Hands-on experience deploying applications on Kubernetes preferred (preferably GKE). Strong knowledge of enterprise standards, architecture patterns, and compliance frameworks preferred. Solid understanding of integration design patterns and working with external APIs preferred. Experience with event-driven architecture preferred (Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar). Expertise in identity and access management using Okta preferred (authentication, authorization, SSO). Knowledge of database technologies preferred (SQL/NoSQL). Strong problem-solving, system design, and architecture skills preferred. Architecture & Design: Knowledge of cloud-native architecture, 12-factor app principles, and agile/DevOps methodologies preferred Generative AI Tools: Exposure to tools like GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development platforms preferred. Cloud-Native & Serverless Computing: Hands-on experience with cloud-native resources and serverless computing using Google Cloud Functions (Python, Java), enabling scalable, event-driven architectures preferred. Experience with front-end frameworks preferred (React, Angular, or Vue). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices preferred. Exposure to observability tools preferred (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk). Knowledge of EPCIS (Electronic Product Code Information Services) and integration with enterprise/warehouse management systems preferred.
