pSemi, A Murata Company
Staff Software Engineer, AI/Machine Learning
pSemi, A Murata Company, San Diego, California, United States, 92189
Job Summary
pSemi Corporation is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in AI/ML. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying state-of-the-art AI/ML solutions, leveraging large language models (LLMs) such as GPT4.1, Llama, and Gemini. The role entails architecting and spearheading the creation of advanced Agent frameworks, applying Agentic AI principles to enable autonomous decision-making and task execution. The candidate will shape and implement systems that drive the automation of RFIC design workflows, directly influencing efficiency and accuracy outcomes. Roles & Responsibilities
Backend Development: Architect, implement, and maintain robust APIs and backend systems for seamless LLM integration, utilizing frameworks such as Flask and FastAPI. Agent Frameworks: Exercise full ownership over the conception, design, and realization of intelligent, agent-based systems using Agentic AI principles. Data Management: Direct all backend software initiatives related to data management, including designing and implementing database infrastructures and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems to optimize LLM performance. RFIC Design Automation: Oversee, architect, and continuously improve scalable software architectures that automate key stages of RFIC design, such as simulation, data collection, and verification. Model Implementation: Serve as the technical authority collaborating across engineering teams to integrate and operationalize advanced AI models. Research & Documentation: Independently investigate and assess emerging AI/ML technologies and frameworks, proactively identifying opportunities to apply them within the semiconductor industry. Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires 8+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in software engineering, with a focus on AI/ML systems. Deep proficiency in Python/Java/C++, with extensive background in object-oriented software design, debugging, and optimization. Demonstrated expertise in building, deploying, and scaling AI/ML applications, including deep learning, generative AI, LLMs, and multi-agent systems. Experience defining technical direction and leading Agile, cross-functional teams on complex projects. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to document and present technical designs and decisions. Track record of independent, high-impact contributions to AI/ML projects. Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience with CMOS and/or RF circuit design. Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD best practices. Proficiency in scripting (Perl, Python, R, Matlab, Shell), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes). Familiarity with IC verification, analog/digital IC design. Knowledge of neural networks, and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch). Experience with EM simulation tools (Cadence, ADS), distributed systems, and advanced data storage principles. Deep understanding of LLMs, generative AI, agentic design patterns, and scalable data management. Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in one of: Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Sciences or Electrical Engineering preferred. pSemi Corporation supports a diverse workforce and is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity for applicants and employees. pSemi does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, sex/gender, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, legally-protected medical condition, military or veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation, or any other basis protected by local, state or federal laws applicable to the Company.
