Job Description
Responsible for shipping, receiving, delivery and storage of various materials following established standards related to a full-service restaurant. This full-time staff member is responsible for the inventory and par levels in the storeroom, production areas, and walk-in units, as well as keeping these areas clean and organized. This position will report to the Shipping/Receiving Coordinator and the Executive Chef, and will support all areas of the restaurant while abiding by the core purpose and core values of Food Services. Will be required to complete accurate inventory counts, store and rotate food products, unload pallets of inventory to the appropriate and approved locations throughout the restaurant. Delivers supplies and/or materials using university vehicles, including moving and/or lifting of equipment. Maintains good working relationships with vendors and service providers. Considered essential personnel and required to work if needed during University closures and inclement weather. Position works in an active production kitchen environment. Performs related duties as assigned to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED,
AND: 12 months experience in shipping and receiving. Skills:
Ability to perform basic math functions Read and understand written or printed materials Use correct grammatical structure and vocabulary Basic word processing Build and maintain rapport with customers and work team Basic computer skills, to include but not limited to familiarity with generating word documents, navigating/editing excel files, receiving/processing/responding to emails. Certifications:
Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date Forklift operator license (may be required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date) Working Conditions:
Perseverance, both physically and mentally, for fast-paced and demanding responsibilities required. Exposure to disagreeable conditions such as handling greasy, dirty materials, walking on slippery floors, walking or riding between buildings on campus, going in and out of walk-in refrigeration units, etc. Frequent and repetitive arm and wrist movement. Exposure to chemicals and noxious odors. Ability to lift objects up to 56lbs, and push/pull up to 100 lbs, depending on job assignment. Must pass Post Offer Employment Test (POET). Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and adapt to a large kitchen environment with varying temperatures (-8 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit). Climb stairs, as necessary, and depending on job assignment, occasionally to frequently, and climb ladders. As essential personnel you may be required to work during University closings. Nights and weekends may apply for any operations especially those operating 24/7. Hepatitis A vaccine required. Department Preferences:
12+ months previous experience working in a store room. Previous experience managing food item inventory and delivering products. Familiarity with pallet jacks, First In First Out product usage.
