This person will be responsible for maintaining the appropriate customer service levels (fill rates), efficiently using the Company's inventory assets (turns), and communicating with the company's various branches and/or vendors for which responsibility is assigned. The day-to-day responsibilities include the following: • Creating purchase orders to facilitate the timely replenishment of the Distribution Centers • Communicating with both assigned vendors and/or company branches to ensure smooth flow of information and goods • Maintaining agreed upon service levels (fill rates) to our customers • Meeting or exceeding inventory turn goals. • Monitoring vendor performance (fill rate and on-time delivery) and taking corrective action where necessary. • Coordinating returns to the vendors for damaged and discontinued merchandise. • Monitoring inventory at all assigned locations and recommends transfers as appropriate to eliminate "overstock". • Reviewing missed demand and adjusting inventory to capture future sales • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience • Bachelor's degree • 2+ years of purchasing/inventory planning experience (some of this experience needs to be with a large company) • Experience fully managing and running their own category of products • SQL experience - ability to run and adjust queries • Strong Excel knowledge - has to have pivot tables, vlookups, xlookups and percent changes (will have to take an Excel test)
